Space can be good in a relationship. Do you feel like you don’t get personal time?

every person i've been with has been codependent, so i kind of associate relationships with being smothered & losing my freedom

me asking for personal time or space has resulted in them getting mad/offended/ hurt EVERY single time. it seems like the norm is to be hella attached so i just don't bother with dating anymore

Yeah that’s extremely unhealthy and borderline emotionally abusive! Your bf/gf should NEVER get upset at you just wanting alone time wtf

yeah 🙁 its happened enough times in different relationships that i genuinely feel like the average person is almost guaranteed to have attachment issues/ not be emotionally mature

That’s actually so fucked up terribly sorry you had to experience that OP! Like people have these unheralded traumas and wanna use another person as a magnet urghhhh so annoying

One time in high school I had a guy (not even dating yet, just met him) ask me what I was doing at home that made it so that I couldn't respond to his texts. I would take like 2 hours sometimes because I was busy with other things 😭 leave me alone wtf
