i love fashion and think it’s so silly when people don’t dress up for a strict dress code. Of course you can express yourself and wear what you’re comfortable in. but Google exists, tailors exist, it’s so easy nowadays to source and wear proper black tie and in my personal opinion it’s fun! of course I’ll dress up! IMO conforming to a dress code is a method of conveying respect & gratitude. you appreciate the time & energy & vision of your host! it’s not about being the most nonchalant.

It’s absolutely ridiculous! Not to mention they don’t even know proper manners or etiquette either and get confused why people are giving them judgmental stares.

Absolutely agree!! I think it’s so about respect to the hosts event and very odd when people try and make it about themselves and judge people who actually follow what the host likes.
