Dude food has always had protein. Even snickers bars have a good amount of protein. The only reason you are noticing now is because they are advertising it

where did i say food has never had protein? open the schools!! i’m talking about how they’re putting an excess in foods that didn’t have very much to begin with (energy drinks, coffee, pop tarts, ETC)

They aren’t, that’s always been there. Unless you mean products that purposefully have more protein than the average product, in which case no they are doing it for money, because people like protein. I’m not sure if you realize this, but the government and the corporations are usually against each other. Open the schools
