i think it’s just the concept of “you’re an adult now”. like i have posters in my room, sleep with stuffed animals, and like to fangirl over pop music/artists and cheesy movies/shows. not that that’s not ok for older people to do, but there’s more of a shift in societal expectations rather than the actual feeling itself. but wtv it’s my birthday!!! yayy!!!
