First of all, I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I meant that there are people who can barely take care of one child but keep having more. Kids are expensive, if we’re being honest. If you’re planning to have kids, there should be some level of stability in your life. There was no need to call me an idiot. Goodnight

The post was “allowed to have kids”. No preference. It can go downhill very fast when people in power or anyone for that matter starts dictating who should have kids especially based on financial status.

Nah they're absolutely correct. If you're in a super financially unstable situation, it's wildly selfish and unethical to have kids. You don't have to be a billionaire, but you gotta be financially stable enough to raise, feed, clothe, shelter, etc your kid

I agree you maybe shouldn’t have kids if you’re unstable, but I don’t agree with the “shouldn’t be allowed”. Because who’s going to enforce that and how? Legal punishment if you’re poor and have kids? Sterilisation?

If in their culture/the way their society is set up, it's doable, then it's different. In collectivist/community-oriented cultures, raising a kid while being financially unstable can be doable. If the society is set up to support it. USA culture/society is NOT AT ALL set up for financially unstable individuals to be able to have and raise children.
