Respectfully no, I could not understand why; you can always find another Royal of a different family with similar traits if they care about eye color and hair color. But we know that diversity of genes and traits is what keeps bloodlines going. There’s a reason two people with sickle cell anemia both trait and gene shouldn’t reproduce, that’s an painful existence to give to someone.

They chose to inbreed from a strategy perspective to keep power and wealth as close to a select few as possible. I meant I understood doing it from that view, but not from the genetic or biological view

Yes but it ultimately was a poor strategy since he couldn’t reproduce and their line of succession died and lost the throne. It works when a spare marry an heir, especially during the time of the throne moving to male children anyways before female children regardless of who was born first. There’s a reason WW1 was a family feud they all were related to queen Victoria because they married off to other royal families rather than each other.
