“I have a boyfriend” stops a man faster than a “no” does. An invisible man still getting more respect than the woman does is nuts, but not surprising.

Unfortunately, a LOT of women don't necessarily like when a guy stops after saying no. This leads to all that. No means no though.

Personally speaking, I’ve had a lot of women that said they’re in a relationship, they have a boyfriend, or they’re seeing someone and I respect it point blank. In some cases, they lie and I still get that. Does it hurt? Heck yeah but it is what it is. It’s a woman’s choice and she’ll make her choice as such. Take the no and move forward. Let the woman be.

If 60% of women will yes after saying no twice, then men will believe that’s what all women do. Sort of like how if one man doesn’t respect you, you’ll believe that’s all men don’t

why are we still going after someone after she said no

upvote 41 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #3 19h

that still doesn’t explain why a man should ignore a woman’s “no.” you can’t treat someone’s boundary as negotiable just because someone else changed their mind

upvote 36 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 19h

It’s not a boundary most of the time. It’s a woman trying to act like if they end up having sex, it’s the man’s fault. You know all of this why beat around the bush here

upvote -16 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #3 19h

If she says no, you respect the no. If she later changes her mind, that’s her choice. Her changing her mind later doesn’t make her original no meaningless.

Only about 20% of the world agrees with that

upvote -16 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #3 19h

Only 20% of the world thinks a “no” should be respected? Then name the source because that’s an extraordinary claim. And even if it were true popularity doesn’t and shouldn’t determine whether someone’s consent should be respected.

Anonymous replying to -> OP 19h

You’re setting boundaries for OTHER people. If other women say no and don’t mean it, maybe you should try respecting THEIR intentions. How about instead of saying no, next time just say “no, I’m not interested”. Signal that you aren’t leading them on

Anonymous replying to -> #3 19h

You’re conflating ‘some women change their minds’ with “a man should ignore a no.” If someone says no you respect it. If they later change their mind they can communicate that. It’s not my “boundary for other people it’s basic consent. I’m not going to tell someone that their no doesn’t count because they might change their mind later. I’m not arguing with you anymore about consent. No is no. If that doesn’t make sense to you, you have some things to reflect on.

I don’t think you understand your own argument. WHY should someone not continue when someone says no? What is the impact of your “boundary” being crossed?

upvote 12 downvote

It's a matter of respect; it's not your boundary to manage. You simply leave it alone when they say no. If you've got no respect for them you've got no business interacting with them. It's a lot about human decency

Yes obviously he dodged a bullet but many women support this behavior and encourage it. They also need to be held accountable for this. Men should take no for no, women should be able to communicate their feelings without needing a guy to chase them for the thrill "of the game" as I've been told

They also literally said no means no. That means they understand its not a good thing. You need to improve your critical reading and thinking skills...

100% this, like i can share my experiences and how it relates to the state of things. It doesn't mean i support or agree with any of it but there's context for some of this stuff. I think we much too quick to attack eachother. It's easy to bring someone down when you don't know their life, their personality, ect. You see more insults being flung than people actually have discussions with eachother
