like my girlfriend and I haven’t spent real money at starbucks in over a year because her family members give her gift cards and at that point they’d profit more if we DIDN’T use the gift cards

Yeah but it’s not my money I’m spending, it’s money they already made that I’m simply redeeming. Once someone buys you a gift card, the corporation already has that money, and they actually lose money when you redeem it vs. if you just didn’t use it at all and they never had to give you the product in return.

there’s literally not a single reason to support that company by giving them your money. people have been screaming to shop local for decades now

Obviously shopping local is better ethically but what bad things has Starbucks done specifically? I looked into it and couldn’t find any substantiated claims
