That’s why “grabbing a coffee” is so popular. Unless you drink coffee like a dog in the summertime getting a bowl full of cold water.

I think timing is a factor. People are usually busy during the day, which leaves evenings as the usual free time to date. But you would also generally eat dinner in the evenings. So, you kill 2 birds with 1 stone by having a dinner date.
