Yes, Zionism which formed in the late 19th century is 1000% a result of the Holocaust… dude no, the Holocaust is not used to “justify” anything. In fact, Zionism has little to do with it at all since Zionism has to do with the state of Israel existing and little to do with the crimes of a bad, far right government.

Israeli propaganda claims that anytime anyone needs to die, it was Hamas. But that’s absurd. Hamas school kids. Hamas passers-by. Hamas neighborhoods. Israel is eradicating Palestine and it is genocide.

But casualty rates r far lower than if Israel didn’t painstakingly move civilians whenever possible. Israel also is doing a terrible job at eradicating Palestine given its relationship w the PA. The issue here is far more complex. There is no benefit to saying ignorant statements like that. I’m not arguing that there are some fascists in Israel who might actually want that. Have you ever spoken to a Zionist? Sincere question. Because they literally say that they never attack - they only defend. (It IS the Israeli defense force after all… 🙄), and that they’re defending against Hamas. It’s amazing how anyone who needs to die is suddenly Hamas.

So i am literally a zionist and yes it was named the idf specifically to defend itself against literally many arab states that attacked unprovoked for the sole cause of murdering jews. it is so much more nuanced than you will understand and i doubt that you have sat down with someone who has actually lived through years of war to hear their experiences and opinions

do you know that genocide has a real definition? not just some word you can throw around? there is a difference between understanding that the palestinian and israeli experience is deeply sad and that the entire situation is flawed and just throwing around buzzwords to cover up for hating “zionists” which was quite literally soviet propaganda after the holocaust because hating jews was a no no :)

I am a Zionist. And I’ve spoken to hundreds. I’ve spoken to extreme ones and I’ve spoken to liberal ones. I am telling you the general consensus. And no one is saying the only victims r Hamas. Ppl r saying the only INTENDED victims r Hamas. Hence the civilian death rate actually being relatively low for city warfare. Still, too high. Most Zionists will agree with that.

Your last comment i almost entirely agree with and is not an unpopular opinion in israel. Not only do most Zionists generally agree, but so do most Israelis. The anti government protests in Tel Aviv put the Columbia and NYC protests to shame.
