Had an old history professor explain that once. Shows that a guy has resources. Fat guys used to be attractive because that meant he had an abundance of food and therefore wealth.

Maybe the confidence? Used to be ashamed of it but now I just show it off proudly at the beach and stay tan.

they’re not. this is a cultural myth pushed by fat people. very very few people actually find beer bellies and the disgusting fatsos attached to them attractive
