It amazes me that there are people out there that would abort a child just because it’s a boy…is that not insane?

Used to happen lots more globally with girls, because boys were considered more productive for farming, business, fighting etc, and girls instead a burden to have to support until being married…

What are you talking about as if China’s literal one child rule isn’t the reason for baby girls being aborted or abandoned; it’s not as prevalent for boys.

Well tbh if they know they’re going to be an unfit parent to the boy, it’s better not to have him live a life where he’s unwanted

i genuinely know someone who’s parents aborted the two pregnancies before him because they only wanted one son

When I was interning at a law enforcement agency they had a case of a woman who had 5 kids, 3 girls and 3 boys. All 3 boys died from unsafe sleep practices but mysteriously all the girls lived (order of births were girl girl boy boy girl boy, the third boy passing after the youngest girl lived was the ok this isn’t just SIDS anymore)

It’s why sex-revealing data is illegal in china (genetic testing/ultrasounds). Ofc there’s other ways people find out but eh

To add to this, both are insane. Killing a baby based off of gender social norms is incredibly sad

Yea I mean I agree- but I can’t control people’s actions so I’m just saying it’s better for them if they know they’re going to be unfit to just do what they need to do - even though the best solution would be for them to just not have children
