I can't lie if I meet someone and they don't know ANY games at all then I have no idea what to talk about bc that's 90% of my conversations...I can talk about other stuff but I'm in no way interested in it tho

Look for another hobby to diversify your interests. Also, when others talk about things they’re genuinely passionate about, try to notice the signs of that. You will start to be happier talking outside of your interests

Free hobbies exist. Hiking, reading and go to local libraries, hell actually libraries have tons of shit for all sorts of stuff INCLUDING video games (or used to before single use disks became a thing)

sports, comics, anime, reading, cooking, art, knitting. you could prolly do a google search and figure out what u like. I have so many it’s hard to organize time and it’s not that expensive

I like listening to the others! It's not that I ignore people when they aren't talking about videogames or try to exclude them it's just become difficult since it's a big part of my life I enjoy so when they say 'what have you been up to?' I can't reply talking about any games bc they don't know or care and I can't tell them any news about any games that recently came out for the same reason so it prevents alot of conversation topics
