You’ll have to navigate it carefully because he could easily call you ungrateful, but I think it’s valid to be upset. It’s not the fact that you didn’t get what you wanted, it’s the fact that he apparently didn’t bother to get to know your interests, let alone look at your list.

Ight I’m a shitty gift giver so nowadays I just ask my gf what she wants each holiday or birthday directly (when we were first dating it was high stress) but if you have a damn list there’s no excuse for that shit, valid crashout but handle it delicately, was it a financial thing? Maybe he’s been really busy recently?
