Because you want commitment and they were just looking for someone to use. But they don’t want to say it so they make it sound like they’re doing the righteous thing when they leave. “You deserve what you want, I know it, and I don’t want to give it because I’m afraid of commitment.” Doesn’t sound as good when they tell the story to the next woman they’re trying to get with.
