Humor is not entirely subjective, as if it were, there wouldn’t be famous comedians who are widely regarded as funny. And yes, delivery matters. If my “joke” about gay people is just saying homophobic slurs and calling it a joke, that’s just not funny. If I tell a well thought out, clever joke about gay people, a lot more people will find it funny.
They are not surrounding themselves with people like this dawg, they’re likely referring to trying to date and running into people that seem nice then suddenly they say something really rude and offensive and they probably then break things off because how could they have known up until they said something offensive that they’d do that lol
a lot of people agree that money has value too and there’s a system of proving how it has value. there’s also a system of showing how something is humorous. a lot of offensive “jokes” are laughed at out of derision for the target rather than the joke. it’s calling the target a joke vs joking about the target.
