One of my professors said “In large part it’s bc it was an attack on free speech & beliefs. While he was not a political candidate, it was a political assassination. He was part of a large movement, and its voice. Sadly, Very similar to past assassinations in this country” I don’t think he’s wrong.
I agree. School shootings deserves way more coverage. The unfortunately reality is as America, we’ve become desensitized to it. It’s almost “normal” to hear about mass shootings. And that is NOT okay. I think Charlie’s death has more coverage because of how public it was and the fact that he is popular. I think if the video of his death wasn’t available for all to see, it probably wouldn’t be this big.
there’s also a conspiracy theory, that he wasn’t meant to die, but he was meant to get shot in the shoulder. While watching the video he bring up “gang activity” and that was the code word, because as soon as he says it, he lowered the mic and then tenses up. if you watch his wife and kids, she covered their eyes before the shot was even released.
Extremist, in any party or group, or evil and or mental illness are both just that and all are not good. The sooner we all realize that n stop saying they were liberal or conservative, in attempt to “blame a party or group” and just call them what they are, mentally ill, evil and or an extremist, we will all be better off.
Because he was gunned down on a college campus in front of his wife and extremely young children and in front of so many people who looked up to him. I don’t agree with him in many aspects however he didn’t deserve that when all he was doing was debating people who had different opinions than him. There were stories of Charlie Kirk’s daughter running to her father because she was scared of the loud noise. How anyone could at the very least not send some prayers to the Kirk family is beyond me
Because it’s political violence and the first instance in a while of someone in the US being assassinated like that. Obviously school shooting deaths are bad and deserve attention, but it’s ignorant to say “why is the assassination of a political figure that almost everyone in our generation knew about getting so much attention? I just don’t get it!”
There’s no way this is a serious question. Charlie Kirk was an incredibly influential and important person to the youth of America. Yes, school shootings are incredibly sad, but Charlie Kirk affected millions of people and he stood for values that millions of people also valued. The scale is entirety different.
While the school shootings and kids whose lives were taken is horrible, the people going into those schools weren’t going with the intention of killing a person bc they disagreed with them. They don’t care who they kill they’re just going in to kill. Charlie Kirk was killed all because he was preaching the Bible and sharing his opinion and giving people a platform to speak even though they often times disagreed with him. This man shot and killed him because he didn’t agree with him.
I’m going to guess it is because he was more well known than the kids. Therefore pretty much everyone in the world has heard about his killing, whereas a smaller sample size hears about every school shooting. All of them are heinous and there is a huge mental health problem in our country. It is exacerbated by everyone demonizing the other side and being so averse to difference of opinion.
Criminals will be criminals. instead of banning guns and have no self defense towards the shooters (cops use guns when stopping the shooter) why don't we have armed guards outside of school or more security in schools to assure people their children are safe. banning guns will make shootings worse since they know no one is coming to kill then after. it's a sad world but we have to be logical.
but instead of it being his shoulder, it was his throat. they wanted him to get hurt, because they want to cover things up (the epstein files and such) and they knew Charlie Kirk would help do just that. and i personally believe he also did it for the fact if it did hit his shoulder, thousands of people would raise money for him and his family,
and he’d become a bigger person in social media and such. but it didn’t happen and he passed, which trump has now said he’s receiving a medal of honor or wtv. which Veterans get after passing in war. his family is also getting millions of dollars. it all being a set up. that trump wanted him to get shot, not die, but shot, so the Epstein files wouldn’t be talked about.
The other reason it’s getting so much news is because of the question “what/who is next?” This whole situation could escalate or spark something larger than just one man dying. School shootings can’t really escalate into a national situation. Don’t try to twist this into me saying school shootings aren’t a national issue btw because they absolutely are. I’m just saying there isn’t the potential for something like the George Floyd riots to happen because of school shootings unless one was extreme
And by extreme I mean like a school shooting with 50-100+ deaths because unfortunately everyone is desensitized to it all now and it won’t really shock anyone unless there’s numbers or something else that makes it seem more severe than others before it even though all acts of violence are equally horrible
Why do people keep saying this? Why can’t we be against both senseless killings? I personally was outraged by that one and am equally upset by the Kirk murder. Kirk gets more attention though because he was more well known I believe. I had never heard of the Hortman’s until their deaths.
You’re saying because it does not look like a person it isn’t. We are all “a clump of cells.” “Clump of cells” just sounds better to “remove” than “kill a baby.” It’s terminology to soften what it really is. Many abortions happen after the heartbeat. That’s why when states made heartbeat bills people still flipped out that it was restricting “reproductive rights,” even though it only protected human rights.
Sorry understanding the bill you defend is importsnt to defending it I never assumed your gender your probably a fucking man then who shouldn’t have say in this shit either until you have to carry a baby for 9 months in your ass ( which can make your teeth fallout btw) and then let us rip through genitials possibly tearing you from hole to hole then don’t fucking speak
I just find it hilarious that you’re telling me what I know. You know nothing about who I am or my background and I assure you that I know A LOT about what I’m saying. I am not speaking to you emotionally. It is all based on factual evidence. Seems like you needed to go speak to Charlie at a rally.
I hope no man ever has sex with you since you apparently think you will have complete ownership over the child that was produced by both of you. Women who think men have no say in matters of reproduction are the same ones who believe in forcing child support/alimony when they don’t allow the father access to the children. And then wonder why the children have issues without a father figure. I’m sorry you apparently have/had a rough life. I hope you will improve your life.
You obviously know nothing of how custody works. Men have no say in if a child is born or aborted, but even if they don’t want the child the girl can force them to have it and pay for it. And they pay way over the cost and the woman has nothing stopping her from using it for herself rather than kids…I see it all the time. Also, in a divorce a man that is no danger and didn’t do anything often still only gets 4 days a month with their kids. Even if the marriage ended due to the WOMAN cheating.
I know everything there is to know abt custody bc I dealt w it as a kid but okay you know how hard it is to keep a father away from his kids in most states? Even if he has a restraining order against him for assaulting his wife he still gets custody all courts try to give the parents split custody
I cannot argue that because I think it varies state to state. I know states like SC it is very hard for a dad to see his kids. Your situation sounds like shit though….if he was a violent offender he certainly shouldn’t have had his rights to custody/visitation. Hopefully you were safe.
Just so you know there’s still a law in WV that states if a husband breaks things in the house or for instance, stabs up the bed that his wife sleeps on… the cops can’t do anything because technically it’s “his” and he can break and stab things he owns you can’t make sweeping general policies in a country where it varies so much state per state
I just said that. It varies state to state. I only know of the state I live in and a few others where I have experience with the way it works. Here’s the thing, from the start, I do wish you the best and I do hope you get out of the situation you started in. I assure you it is possible and I am walking proof. (My dad wasn’t abusive to me or my mom, but financially it was a big struggle)
“I can’t stand the word empathy, I think empathy is a made up new age term and it does a lot of damage. Sympathy is a better word, because empathy means you are actually feeling what another person felt, and no one can feel what another person feels.” - Charlie Kirk You seem to be confused or just ignorant so here you go.
and that’s why we regulate who can access guns in the country????? y’all keep acting like ppl are attacking free speech and the right to bare arms, but all we want to do is the the racist fucks up and make kids feel safer in schools. you can bare arms, you can own firearms, but at the very least regulate how EASY it is to access them because for one what happened to charlie could have very well been avoided, along with the fact that we can stop “sacrificing”innocent children to these weapons.
lmao yes i care about the living breathing children trying to get something as basic as education without getting shot by deranged white men. i also care about the living breathing WOMEN who should be able to have complete control of their bodies and have the CHOICE of whether or not they want to give birth. the fetus is not viable outside the mother when abortions are legally available. even though i wouldn’t do it myself, i would never take that choice from someone else.
The problem is a world that normalises violence and decides to point fingers at everyone but the specific perpetrator. Black people aren’t the issue. Immigrants aren’t the issue. Trans people aren’t the issue. The criminals are the fucking issue. Hate and blame is FAR too normalised. Crusades and a LOT of colonisation came from people who were christian. Does that means every Christian is awful? No, it doesn’t. It means the ones who acted on hate and violence are.
Yet y’all don’t give a shit once someone is born and, y’know, actually a living and separate being. Nothing to push for free healthcare, improved school funding/equipment/curriculum/supplies, free lunches, parental leave for parents, nothing to advocate against the numerous genocides happening, fucking NADA. Fix it.
