Everyone online is outraged by the Jimmy Kimmel incident, saying that it’s scary and that the US is entering a dictatorship. I’m not in the US, but from an outside perspective, where are the protests? Everyone loves to complain from the comfort of their🏠

There are so many protests happening constantly in our country, you don’t hear about them for a reason because the media refuses to cover any unless they’re “violent” so they can suggest every protest for the movement is violent. What sucks is it’s usually law enforcement turning them violent to begin with.

As the other reply said, protests are rarely covered nowadays and are becoming increasingly more dangerous. Simply criticizing the gov can have your reputation ruined, job lost, get you harassed or arrested etc. Seeing little change and heavy consequences when opposing the gov makes people less eager to march in the streets. I know it’s easy to call people lazy but life isn’t so black and white when the ruling class work 24/7 to keep the working class from uniting.
