So confused when I hear people say it’s a “need”, as if you’ll die without it like food or water… I plan to go my whole life w/o it, happily 🤷

I think there's a linguistic difference between a need and a necessity. I see sex, for some, as a need for fulfillment, but it is not a necessity for life. I love sex and sometimes I feels like a physical need, but people that think it necessitates their life bugs me so bad. Like, what if you break your hip? Are you going to die? Your partner is recovering from giving birth. Will you wither away? Bsfr. Control you urges

And what about long distance? Do you have to cheat to sustain yourself? Like, UGH!

Yeah I could get that. Maybe if people said “it’s a need *in a relationship*” (for them) or even just “It’s a need *for me*” bc I feel like too many people go around saying it’s a human need or that everyone needs it (and/or put it on the same level as food/shelter)
