I gen dont know and I rewatch that show twice a week istg. i think he just uses rex as a way to say the worst shit that comes to mind and then blame it on “ITS MY PUPPET HES MY FRIEND!” But the episode where rex “dies” hes like actually upset so like maybe he actually thinks hes real. I literally cannot figure it out
