A lot of people use the word friend too dam loosely. If that’s person isn’t there for you like you are for them. Isn’t showing up for special events. Isn’t inviting you to THEIR special events. That’s not a dam friend that’s an acquaintance.

it’s hard for me to even tell whether someone is my friend or not so i just call any person i like and interact with semi regularly my friend

I mean everyone has a different definition, but personally I like to be generous with who I call a friend
