As a med student I will never understand why doctors don’t say the side effects after prescribing a medication. Why would you let your patient go blind?

They’re not supposed to do that. They are supposed to discuss the side effects with you, otherwise it isn’t informed consent

Well again as someone in med school… they don’t. Every appointment i have ever been to in multiple countries, they haven’t. Hence why I made the post. Yes you are correct, it’s not informed consent.

Well yes, but not doing it is a failure on their part. And should be consistently called out (and reported if you wanna be really petty)

Doctors these days really don’t give a fuck LOL they barely even examine you or talk to you about your symptoms anymore

Not entirely their fault. They have mountains of patients and have to argue with their insurance companies for hours for each one

I get that but I’m from a small town so they definitely didn’t have a mountain of patients to see😭
