This is why I don’t have my license at 19 and some of my friends give me shit for it but I did drive on a main road for a good bit and wasn’t stressed out so that’s progress!

Back roads if you live where you can get to them! I was a very scared driver. I drove back and forth down backroads for several weeks before I finally went into a small town. Even better if someone can drive you out and then you can swap if it gets to be to much. You can do it!

A parking lot is much better than nothing! And sometimes you just have to do things scared, and id say that arguably takes more courage than to just not be scared

Even if you have to make it a “vacation” make the whole goal to just make yourself comfortable. I was 20 when I got mine. But honestly if I lived somewhere where there was public transportation I probably wouldn’t have.

Yeah my college is in a small town 3 hours away so I’m hoping to get more and more experience while I’m there as well!

No nothing happened to me. I just have really bad anxiety with all the cars and I’m very hard on myself when I’m not perfect at something the first time. It’s really all a mind game for my head. Also I get really scared at the idea that I’m responsible for the lives of the people in my car. Just a lot of thoughts that ruin everything.

No they’re not! Especially because the city I live in is known for horrible drivers and lots of confusing infrastructures😓

I see, you’ll get there eventually icl I been driving illegally for years before I got my license but I was usually alone and I started on manual so I got a better sense of handling the car itself

Only thing that sucks about is I go to college 2 hours away so coming home is hard for me and family. But progress is progress!

That’s what I was talking to my uncle about because he’s teaching me that I wish I would’ve started before the fear came apparent
