Like we shouldn’t feel ashamed to talk about it, it’s a natural process. But I’m tired of tampon commercials like “hey menstruating goddesses💅” it’s not glamorous and that’s okay. It’s gross and hurts and that’s ok, that doesn’t make YOU gross.
periods ARE gross and i think that’s ok to say. blood, saliva, sweat, mucous, boogers, urine, poop, vomit, and cum are all gross. like why r we glorifying our bodies waste products

YES THANK YOU!!! NOTHING and i mean NOTHING about humans is clean. even after you shower you use a towel that has bacteria on it, touch door handles, get in ur bed. humans are disgusting because we’re mammals. acting like we’re clean is just plain stupid

Also not to get too pretentious with it but I think it’s tied to this idea that women like. Aren’t ALLOWED to be gross? Like admitting this natural process your body goes through is kind of gross is somehow an insult to femininity? And it’s like no babes, you are a human person with a body. It does gross things. It is not a reflection of your worth as a person to admit your body does gross shit sometimes.

Periods are a health issue. Health issues are inherently a little bit gross. That doesn’t mean we should stop talking about them, we could ALL stand to talk more openly about our bodies, but it does mean it doesn’t need to be glamorous. It just is.
