my experience is completely different. people were nicer to me when i was overweight but now that im skinny i just get told im anorexic and no many could find me attractive 😭
I got so used to men holding doors open for me until I gained weight & they stopped doing it. I’ve since lose weight again but it’s interesting how much nicer people are when you’re thin

That’s interesting. Seems OP’s situation happens way more often in comparison tho. I rarely ever hear this perspective but hear the other one a lot

u dont hear this perspective bc skinny shaming isnt seen as a thing and if you try to speak about ur experience you’re immediately invalidated so we just learned to shut up lmao.

Trust me I’ve definitely been skinny shamed. But even if i experienced shame from people I simultaneously would get a lot of praise & still experienced pretty privilege. I’ve also been bigger. Being skinny will always be easier & more ideal. & it’s hurtful but not as bad as being fat shamed. People treat fat people like they’re not human.

okay and trust me, i was treated better when i was fat. this is what i mean by invalidating. my experience is different from yours and its not okay to tell me otherwise. i miss being fat.

like did you just comment to really tell me “oh well fat people have it worse” leave me alone brother idky. im talking about MY LIFE. when i was almost 200 lbs people never treated me this poorly even though i was still made fun of for being fat, but its nowhere near comparable to being called a crackhead and being told i must be a drug addict because i lost too much weight. that shit affects my actual image in society and not just whether or not people think im “attractive”

That’s understandable but your situation is not common. & how often are people calling you those things? I’m assuming family? Overall being fat shamed will always be worse. We’re literally in an Ozempic epidemic rn, people are quite literally doing anything to be as skinny as possible. That body type has been & always will be seen as attractive even if a few people tell you otherwise. The same thing can’t be said about a fat body 🤷‍♀️

& if being skinny is that bad then gain the weight back? Also I’m just sharing my experience also lmao. As a skinny person who’s heard it all I just don’t have as much empathy for other skinny people because our bodies are literally the standard. A few hurtful comments from people here & there doesn’t change that. My family makes fun of me for being skinny, but they’re all overweight. Am I really going to let overweight people make me feel bad when they actively want to be skinnier too?

A lot of people are getting their BBL’s removed. Skinny is in rn BBL’s were more of a thing of the past. Also a BBL doesn’t equate being fat.
