You know what I love? How everything is $100 now. You want to go out to eat? $100. You want to go to see a movie in the theaters? $100. Minimum wage is $7.25, right? So without even considering taxes that’s like 14 hours of work do go do one thing.

I don’t know why the fighting with you OP, date nights are expensive now. Casual outings are expensive now, I understand you completely. Life is expensive.

I guess you’re all right. I’m wrong. It’s super affordable everywhere right now in this country.

If you want to go anywhere other than McDonald’s or Chipotle it’s basically $100. Two meals, a few drinks, tax and tip. And a movie? Let’s say two IMAX tickets are around $15 or something. Popcorn, a drink, if you want to get candy or pretzels or something else. It adds up quickly.

It was just a reference point. $15/hour you’re still working about 7 hours. So that’s still nearly a full days work for $100.

Not Chilis I guess. What do you want to happen here? You win whatever argument you want to win. I forfeit.

Dawg, I go to Texas Roadhouse and don’t hold back and still only spend $60. That’s an appetizer, 2 big ass steaks, 2 drinks, and a margarita and it’s only $60 with tip. So either you’re going to 5 star restaurants which in that case is your fault. Or you’re way inflating the numbers.

2 big ass steaks? You’re already at $60.

Guy said “big ass steaks” and I’m sure plenty of people. So ok, 12 ounce steaks? Still $50. Want to do the 8 ounce? Still $40. No drinks. No appetizer. No tax. No tip. Just a steak. But I’m so crazy.

Unless you live in California or New York it’s not as bad as you’re trying to make it seem. If you live in either of those places I’m sorry and feel terrible for you. Or you may just be bad with money and in that case I either feel bad that no one taught you, or I don’t feel bad bc it’s your own fault

My Texas Roadhouse trip: $13 for the combo appetizer I get 16oz sirloin $24 My girl gets 8oz sirloin usually $17 2 drinks $5 That’s $59 To make it cheaper you could get only water. Or no appetizer. Yeah sure it all can add up. But just know where your $ is going which it seems like you have an issue with

I know where my money is going. How is it fair to assume I don’t? I made a comment about how expensive it is to do anything anymore and now we’re talking “well if you skip the appetizer”. That’s part of the point. To go out to Texas Roadhouse (since we’re using that for some reason) and ordering the meal you actually want rather than sacrificing is missing the point. Saying you’ll save money by not spending it will obviously save you money.

And I just mathed it out for you with the appetizer 😂. You’re complaining about how expensive stuff is and that you can’t have a decent meal for less that $100 and I just proved that you could. Lose the victim mentality and maybe you’ll actually enjoy life

Oh you’re so right I’m such a victim. It’s all my own thought process keeping me down. Things are so cheap and affordable right now everywhere. All I have to do is listen to your advice and everything will be fine. Thank you David Ramsey, you’ve saved me.

I appreciate it. Everything is going up except wages. It’s no secret there’s a widespread struggle to enjoy life’s little pleasures now. Sure you don’t need to go to a restaurant. But people enjoy it. Sure you don’t need to go to the movie theater. But people enjoy it. People are cutting back or cutting out completely enjoyment in their lives for survival.

I have simple pleasures like scrapbooking, painting, etc, free trivia nights or hiking or activities that I try to Groupon, or get deals on and it’s still expensive.

I’m not totally against living a more simple life. I just think it’s a shame when things essentially get taken away because the wealth gap keep growing wider. We all know what’s happening. But I don’t know if any of us know how to stop it.

Yeah no I like simple and extravagant things but even simple pleasures are expensive. Then I have one major pleasure I try to see one Broadway show a year and that’s becoming a scarcity to every other now cause it’s so expensive and I love broadway or live orchestra; concerts are way too expensive to consider. I agree I think it’s insane when you can’t enjoy the little or big things cause everything is expensive.
