This is unrelated but is insecurity in your own looks worse when you’re gay bc the guys you have a crush on look better than you in your opinion? I feel like I would feel so ugly if all of my crushes were hotter people of my own gender.

There’s different tribes for sure. It also helps that you could just be straight up with what you want and it’s not seen as demeaning. For example, straight women just fantasize about Twinks, but in reality there is significant difference in what men find attractive in other men. I’d take a down to earth bear or an otter any day of the week versus some mean Twink.
