so if you have several kids right you have to deal with house errands like shopping and cleaning and if there’s a pet you deal with feeding, exercise, grooming, and if lunch isn’t free or is terrible you’re prepping lunch or prepping dinner which you gotta cook for the whole family and when they get home which is usually time off after work you’re on the clock it’s like being a live in nanny + maid + pet sitter all in one
well ofc it makes it better if one side insists you don’t work that’s a form of abuse and if one side insists they not work that’s exploitative. also so if someone dies that’s why there’s life insurance and two like you said people who do this are probably already in a pretty comfy financial position meaning their income is pretty stable and if something did change and they need two incomes one can always just go back to work?
yeah ig going from abuse to a stupid decision is technically better 😭 there are safeguards available but the majority of sahms aren’t well off, they’re doing that bc daycare is too expensive. there’s def an affordability problem with having kids but that doesn’t make the decision to be 100% financial dependent on someone else any less immature
