once you start trying to avoid plastic you realize how incredibly hard it is. i just spent hours trying to find a mouthwash and toothpaste without plastic as an ingredient. why tf is it in there at all?

if you see carbomer or poloxamer on the ingredients list, that’s plastic. just like acrylates, literally acrylic, plastic. before i knew about plastic in products i bought a hair gel and the first ingredient is plastic (vp copolymer), and it’s supposed to be a natural brand. it’s also very hard to find beauty products without acrylates. especially lip products and eyeliner, yk lip products you end up ingesting.

silicones aren’t seen as plastics but they still shed microplastics basically and they’re in everything. shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hair products
