I sometimes dislike being smarter than most of the general public. People read a good article and think they are subject matter experts. Easier to convince an apple its an orange than to convince a fool they are one.
See I am too but being technically intelligent doesn’t stop anyone from being stupid nor does it make them humble enough to be self-examining

Why do you think you’re generally smarter

Oh im not Einstein. Im smart enough to know there are people much smarter than me, but the general public as a whole. Wow!

Over half the population thinks this. If you actually are looking at things objectively, you’d realize that you have no real evidence that you are smarter than most people. You could be wrong just as easily as anyone else

Well said. But I also think being humble is contributing to the problem. In person id never call them dumb as I would online simply because its not what you do. But… aren’t we exacerbating the problem?

If you were looking at it objectively you’d know its either fact or not. You cant be wrong when the fact is literally what separates the two competing ideas.

that’s more being polite than being humble but like you said if someone wants to refuse to accept they could be wrong there’s nothing you can tell them anyways

It’s never that black and white. You don’t sound smart at all

i was assuming OP was talking about IQ which is the only way you can measure it objectively and determine whether you’re above average but if it’s not IQ then i got no idea what they mean

They mean politically

It is that black and white. Facts are literally facts. So objectively speaking you can not argue a factual claim. Wtf are you on about? This is what im talking about. You cant even come to terms with the simple truth that a factual is a fact.

Nothing is factual. Axioms are imperfect, as discovered by Kurt goedal and agreed upon my mathematicians. Des cartes and Socrates wrote of the skepticisms. Nothing is objective. Objectivity is impossiblr

Bro arguing against fact is exactly what im talking about.

but there are facts that we all agree upon as the truth so it’s not like facts are useless. in the context of our society with widely agreed upon basic facts objectivity exists

Yes but op is saying that they are right because they are smart regardless of how much of the general public agrees

Anonymous#31w
No im saying im smarter for the very reason you’re demonstrating. Arguing that facts are subjective is the very essence of what im saying. Facts are facts. If it can be disputed, its not a fact.

which is ironic if their original point is they dislike when people arrogantly assume they’re always right despite being completely wrong
