Friend is spamming me about how much they disagree with me politically. Do I stay and talk them through it/help educate him that not all liberals are crazy monster groomers or do I quit calling him a friend?

It can’t hurt to try and have a civil convo

Stop being that mfs friend. It’s deeper than political stance it’s about moral now. I just cut off someone for our differences. It’s deeper than what these people out here tell you

FaceTime him. Convos over text about politics never work.

I really want him to learn what I actually think rather than what propaganda tells him I think and contribute to less division. But at the same time... this person is spamming me and harassing me.

That's true, I respond to him and it's just endless paragraphs back so I'm kinda worried. What would a civil convo look like?

As long as there’s no hostility and demeaning language I’d say it’s civil

But he was talking about subtle misinformation that drag queens are groomers. Like I had to literally teach him what a drag queen was bc he thought they were just sexual gay cross dressers. I had to teach him that drag is just a exaggeration of femininity and that even women could be drag queens and rock a crazy wig if they wanted to.

He said "I thought you were smarter than that" when I replied

How important is this friendship to you?

My heart woukdnt break if I lost it because we've only been friends for 5 months. But we have this bond where we never run out of things to talk about and I'll miss that. We instantly clicked and we are otherwise compatible friends.

That’s a tough spot, definitely worth trying to fix, but some of us guys can be stubborn so he might not come around

He sounds like he’s too old to be acting like he can’t google this shit himself. Drop him

We aren't that old. I've been 18 since January and he's been 18 for a few months. We both found our info online, it just seems he's being fed different info than me. The algorithm can be dangerous tbh.

But yeah if he just jumps to conclusions of what a drag queen is without googling it and just seeing a video of one twerking then yeah that is dumb of him. He refused to dive deeper into the subject and just scratched the surface.
