I have a love-hate relationship with micro-aggressions because they are funny in an unfunny way. Least but also favorite one is: “Are you 7/11 brown or 9/11 brown?”

Maybe if they didn’t disproportionally commit crimes or hurt people maybe they wouldn’t have those stereotypes

It’s a racist stereotype towards people with South Asian lineage. The ‘joke’ is that the brown people you see working at the 7/11 stores are South Asian

Unfortunately, there are countries that fit into both stereotypes or none at all. For instance, I am Pakistani. The country of Pakistan is often considered both South Asian and Middle Eastern. We possess characteristics of both. Consequently, we are blamed for 9/11 while also being stereotyped into the 7/11 jokes.
