Only push them farther. Part of love is knowing when they need space.

In 60 years will that matter? How much space is too much?

If I’m too push past her boundaries, it only proves I’m unreliable and I act out on emotion. Not logic

I think all that matters is being honest. Part of being mature is knowing how to handle that. On both ends

But hey if you don’t do it today, you can just spend the rest of your life thinking about it

I wouldn’t say I’m fearful nor am I on edge to pursue them. It’s More or less the time we’ve spent has caused an incredible amount of burnout.

Why not tell them. I mean wouldn’t it be beautiful if you could just get your feelings off your chest? Life truly can be so amazing the second you stop holding yourself back.

I eventually plan on reaching out, given it time for me to process my emotions and not making a similar mistake.

I’ve been open, I’ve been maybe too open. If provided I give them the space they need, it shows the emotional growth and independence they may have been searching for. I’d rather be flawless in my execution, rather than bombard them with my emotions. If I haven’t even given them time to process theirs.

Healing isn’t only done when it’s the most convenient or comfortable. Sometimes filling your mind with distractions until you feel fine just prolongs the inevitable

I suppose it could’ve helped saying she specifically stated she wanted space. If I infringe on her, I destroy her trust, and reset any progress at sealing an old relationship. And creating a new one

Hm, that is a little trickier I will admit. However, from my perspective when I ask for space it’s because I feel like close proximity makes leaving too difficult. When the man gives me space it teaches me how to live without them. There were times when I liked it so much I chose to just stick to it. Other times I found myself missing them, but ended up in the same situation (as leaving doesn’t magically solve the issue), only once did it work out. Just a thought

I mean, prior they had requested space and it didn’t work out so well. I got her back, but I could tell it wasn’t right. And over time it slowly ended re opening that deep ass scar tissue. I truly know that I want this to work. And I understand there are other fish In the sea. But what if this catch is for me?

Keep in mind you could die tmr. She could die tmr. That hurt may very well be the end of your story. If holding back your truth is worth it then so be it. Whatever is meant to be will be. However, if you love each other, I see no reason to bottle anything up.

Many people aren’t taught how to deal with stress. Sometimes things get so tense that we struggle to cope. Keeping distance feels like the easier option. Especially when you are used to carrying the burden of a stressful life on your shoulders. However from experience, burdening that alone isn’t the magic solution. If you were adding to her stress ofc she’ll want to push you away. Maybe there is a part of her that wishes you would reach out. Either way, I—a random yikyakker would never know.
