Hank Green’s use of AI for only finding research sources to then read himself is a perfectly acceptable use of LLMs and he shouldn’t be cancelled for being transparent with his viewers. It’s the casual generative AI use that’s the problem, not this

Honestly just use it for brain storming and research

Honestly I often read the google ai result because it’s showing up anyways

Actually it is bad, bc all commercial consumer use of ai is worthless socially and harmful, hence why he reflected on it, but I agree he shouldn’t be canceled. He’s striving to do better and that’s what our focus should always be. Transparency and improvement is more important than the mistake

In a capitalist world isn’t everything commercial eventually? Not trying to make excuses but just trying to not be hypocritical in my views on ai. To clarify I think generative ai is harmful and dumb, and I support research assistive and specialized ai use such as in the medical field for diagnostic support. And while I agree using “research ai” for a YouTube channel is pushing the moral acceptability he is known as a very education focused channel and not a monetization focused one

I do think it needs to be transparent and responsible when used and that creators should feel some pressure to be responsible from their communities, and I wouldn’t even go as far to support this kind of use by other creators, I just think the backlash he’s gotten is a little out of proportion for what he actually did
