Yes imo. Whenever I hear people say no, it’s because they’re contrasting it to a very specific kind of (very mainstream and commercial) porn. But the underlying principle between smut and porn is the same

To be clear, I don’t think that smut is inherently bad (nor porn). But since the most mainstream kind of porn is more problematic in its tropes and exploitation, and since one can have an unhealthy relationship with porn consumption, I applaud OP for their decision
