
A few things: 1.) Nobody — or, at least, only the vocal minority — is objecting to the notion that there should be some sort of immigration authority in this country; 2.) HOWEVER, if there is to be an immigration authority, they do still need to operate within the bounds of legality and with regard for the humane treatment of people (which is not what’s currently happening); 3.) Yes, ICE existed during the Obama administration. Yes, the administration then did perform deportations. Cont.
But, to my recollection, there were not nearly as many prolific cases of people being shipped off to countries that were not of their origin — ones that are often thousands of miles away from where they’re actually from — nor was ICE being emboldened to act in especial extrajudicial fashion as they are now.
