Pew research estimates that as of 2023 there are nearly 14million illegal immigrants in the United States. If you look at dhs records- even dating back to the Obama administration, they give you numbers that have committed ADDITIONAL crimes to crossing the border illegally. Not all of them are violent, some of them are failure to appear in court. But let me be clear, a citizen would be arrested for something like that. This is most tone deaf response. According to the DHS own statistics 85% has no criminal history other than traffic offenses. Only 5% has violent offense and most people would be fine if you deported that 5% granted they have due process but that is not what ICE is doing. Well it didn’t go into the car, it went near the car. They were in a protest, if people were protesting tear gas wouldn’t have gotten thrown. Throwing tear gas is commonly used to disperse a crowd and that’s what they were doing. The mother should not have put her child in that situation. The family was not targeted and ice was just doing their job trying to win against the protesters
