What makes you think it’s not as prolific? Every ltr I’ve had has been emotionally manipulative (or well past the threshold of what would pass for that if a guy’s like that) and two of them have been physically abusive. One of them repeatedly so. Women tend to react by saying that if it happened twice I must’ve done something to deserve it. Which isn’t true, but that attitude is itself a great window into why the gender disparity shakes out the way it does.
