yeah, exactly. like I already knew on some level that societal progress isn’t a continuous up-and-up trajectory, but it’s still jarring to observe in real time

the thing is there are a lot of things at ploy to keep us divided and focus on issues that further hatred and division. they’ve been using this tactic since the radical movements of the 60’s/70’s around vietnam. using real world issues to also manipulate and turn a society against itself. it’s not all uphill… but the biggest battle is focusing on loving one another and lifting each other up.

cointelpro and whatnot, yeah, I totally hear what you’re saying. shoutout for drawing attention to that part, I legit respect the refusal to succumb to total misanthropy & disillusionment it’s a tough balancing act between letting myself get appropriately annoyed over regressive attitudes and also keeping in mind that, since all of us are subject to insidious cultural programming, those attitudes aren’t necessarily the fault of the individual Or immutable
