youre right, i will be protective. bc some men make up for the rest in terms of shittiness. not all dogs bite, but its still never a good idea to run up to dogs randomly and touch them. same kinda thing. is it limiting their freedom to tell them its not smart to to pet the dog? is it limiting their freedom to tell them its not smart to go to bars alone at 1:00AM in sketchy areas?

Right. Being protective isn’t the issue here, it’s the fact that men will continue to dismiss women’s very real apprehension of men until it’s their daughter. It shouldn’t take you knowing or loving someone for you to be empathetic

that's fair. Then to what degree is it ok to place those protections or limit what people "can do or wear", or is there no limit, should it be something people just know

I think growing up as a woman, it’s unfortunately engrained in you early on to know what measures to take to lessen risk, but at the same time it’s incredibly frustrating for the burden to be placed on us always. Instead of teaching women ways to not get attacked we should be teaching men not to attack women
