If you were worried about someone’s response to wishing them a happy birthday, then they are not worth reaching out to in general

Right but what if he’s nice then IS he worth it? It doesn’t matter bc the POSSIBILITY of him being cold is what’s killing me. I can’t handle the risk

I think the point is that you have to fear that in the first place. He must have done something to make you afraid he’ll be cold and mean from a simple happy birthday.
