I hate when people say “i understand” or something along those lines because it’s highly likely they don’t. Even if we went through the same situation the way our brains process and experience said things is different is this like a wrong way of thinking?

I think it’s a matter of they understand that you went through/you’re going through a really hard time. Of course, they don’t understand the exact thing you’re feeling, but they understand enough to relate to you on a human level.

And if the experience is the same I don’t mean entirely like yes of course in some aspects you understand. But especially when the person hasn’t experienced said thing, idk I find it so frustrating to hear I get it when you don’t

Yes that’s the wrong way of thinking. Our brains are all incredibly similar the only difference between us is how we grew up

Our brains are probably the most diverse and complex things about us…… it isn’t wrong to think that people have individual perspectives or preferences in coping mechanisms

Everyone has the same coping mechanisms. We aren’t different, that’s just something you were told as a kid to help you cope with how small we all are

That is definitely very wrong. Our brains are absolutely completely unique to us. You’ve heard of heart transplants but you’ll never hear about a brain transplant.

Yeah I guess that’s fair enough

There’s nothing unique about our brains. That’s fantasy

Wdym there’s not unique, every piece of our bodies or our phenotype is variable of course it’s unique

Not neurologically

Again that’s literally not true?? I don’t understand how you confidently say that. Our brains are different and unique neurologically, structurally, functionally, brain chemistry wise. That’s fact. How you grew up sure plays a factor in certain contexts but before nurturing plays a factor our brains are already different from one another.

No, they aren’t, besides dysfunctions. That’s a fact

I mean I’ve been seeing neurologists for 15 years now and they say otherwise. Ive been a patient for neurosurgery and neuropsychology as well. Yk all doctors that study brains for their lives? Yeah they all say otherwise. I literally have firsthand experience with what you’re saying doesn’t exist.

If you ask someone for base level advice on their field of study, 9 times out of 10 they’ll tell you what they want to be true, not what the results objectively say
