
no disrespect but “doing sex work” and “being trafficked” are by definition two different things, it’s important to separate those two out of respect for victims / survivors of trafficking. either way, sex work itself isn’t *innately* empowering, but I think that’s true of most jobs. tbh I’ve worked in the adult industry due to lack of options myself, so I have a lot of thoughts on this subject
it’s undeniably fucked up that when someone can’t manage to hold a conventional job for whatever reason, some of us would end up Needing to turn to SW as a last resort. but what I personally found somewhat “empowering” under these circumstances (as a disabled person living in poverty) is the fact that I was able to make an income independently off of the fact that men wanted my attention
