Yeah misandary and misogyny both are bad, but one is kills women and other one pisses men off. There is a difference. This is 99% true. The one exception I think is male mental health, which is actually a genuine crisis. That being said, its almost always red pill men dragging down other men who need help. Most of the answers to male mental health are indirectly (or sometimes directly) found in feminist literature.
This is disingenuous and undercuts the actual problem. Patriarchy is responsible for both misandry and misogyny with too many situations to even list. They both cost people their lives and livelihoods, their freedoms and safety. And both men who perpetuate these flawed systems, and those who try not to, are impacted whether they want to believe it or not. Specifically I can think of family court as a matter where biased judges, either way, can ruin lives.
When are women going to care about Misandry as much as misogyny? When women commit more violent crimes against men than men do women? Thatâs the only thing that could convince half of you women who believe this that misandry is evil and the other half wouldnât care if it was true, violence is wrong and so is emotional abuse regardless of sex/gender, only a misandrist or a misogynist would disagree
No itâs fine, I struggle with stuff like this but I get what you have been saying, it isnât really wrong even if it is hurtful. I just hate how people make hate normalized. So many people say I hate men and usually itâs playful and not really the fully story, but it really hurts, and adds to self-hate, when I try so hard to be a good person and to never make anyone uncomfortable only to hear itâs impossible to be trustworthy and good because of my gender.
Yeah itâs gotten better since i better understood their povâs, I hate to say it but I think it might be a me issue. I rarely see gendered hate either way in my real life but the online stuff does drag me down at times. Pulling women isnât the point, itâs more about being a trustworthy and good person in general, someone who doesnât make people uncomfortable or overstep on their boundaries. I appreciate your care alot though, I donât mean to bash you if it sounds like i was
Then youâre clearly a man who hasnât experienced it. Lucky you, that or youâre just lying, all men and women experience misandry and misogyny in their life, youâre not exempt. If you donât realize thatâs what youâre experiencing, then thatâs on you, I canât help you.
Yall got so triggered in these comments please donât think your pathetic attempt at bait is gonna work. My job here is down, more sad little men upset that someone didnât feed into their delusional facade so you donât have to own up to the fact that you did nothing with your lives and itâs YOUR fault. Nobody elseâs. Have the day you deserve đââïžđđđđ
Misogyny by definition does not mean anything physical, itâs social oppression. And even if it was physical, youâre completely wrong. There is a current viewpoint that women can hit men, but men canât hit women. Neither should happen, but the viewpoint that if a woman hits a man, the man canât hit the woman back to defend himself is also Misandary, not because of the physical violence, but the double standard that weâve set for women
thatâs just not supported by research at all. men report feelings of loneliness and isolation due to not having strong bonds with male friends and not feeling comfortable sharing emotions/ asking for help. a large part of why so many men struggle with mental health is because of the patriarchy and the standards it holds men to. society tells men they need to be manly and strong all the time and shames them for being emotional.
You do realize you just gave the meaning of Misandary, right? The standard that men need to be manly and not share emotions? Much like the vice versa, women being told they should be seen and not heard? Is that not misogyny? Because if thatâs misogyny, then what you just told me right now is Misandary.
I didnât say men donât hit women, donât twist my words. I said that the difference between men hitting women and women hitting men is vast. If a man hits a woman, itâs a crime, but if a woman hits a man, itâs probably because he deserved it. Thatâs the standard set, and thatâs misandry.
i would definetly call that an unfair gender based double standard. (not really much evidence to the claim that men are as oppressed as women) i have conducted research on intimate partner violence, its a topic i take very seriously. male victims of IPV are not taken as seriously and it is a huge issue. one that stems from patriarchal norms is argue, not oppression.
in social science, oppression usually refers to systematic and institutional patterns that consistently disadvantage a group across many areas of life. men are not systemically oppressed by women in the ways that women are in society. that is not a matter of opinion, it has been researched extensively
bc men arenât oppressed for being men holy fuck đ men obviously are oppressed for their race/sexuality/etc but itâs not bc theyâre MEN. literally every issues youâre listing thatâs âmisandryâ is either a side effect of misogyny or the result of another system of oppression. men are not oppressed bc theyâre men
I agree, and I think thatâs an OK way to end a conversation like this. Thereâs an infinite number of viewpoints on matters like this, Iâm not necessarily saying yours are completely wrong or untrue, Iâm just saying for the most part I donât personally see it the same way.
It kind of is, misandry is a response to women dealing with a lot of violence and hatred imposed on them by men (as a class) through the patriarchy, misogyny was the perpetuation of that violence initially Itâs the same way a queer person might be distrustful of someone who isnât queer or how any person of color in America might be distrustful of white people Itâs not about being a man, itâs about having been part of the oppressive class
I disagree, if youâre referring to the male loneliness epidemic thatâs not an issue caused by women hating men, from personal experience it comes from lacking a community, as soon as you find a community (and especially mixed gender communities) it does genuinely get a lot better If youâre suffering bc you feel like all women hate you Iâm sorry and I hope it gets better
Menâs mental health has been an issue far longer than misandry has been popping up on our screens. And the original post makes perfect sense, it might just seem hard to hear. Misandry is horrible no doubt, but misogyny has been KILLING women. Deadass look at afganistan, women arenât allowed to even show their faces or go to college? The Salem witch trials? Men donât face that same discrimination? Who gets killed more in relationships? Who gets raped more?
Like bro Iâm a guy and does it suck hearing women say they hate men? Sure. But comparing that to what women go through is the most out of touch shit Iâve ever heard. Even men that get raped or boys that get trafficked are for *majority* other men. And lets not try and pretend it isnât true because how many of you would hire a 21yr old guy to babysit your 6-16yr daughter?
Source? I bring up misandry more than when just misogyny is brought up. Nice strawman. Systematic oppression is when boys clubs (boy scouts of america) allow girls but girls do not have reciprocation. Or when girls get their student athletics paid for by the boys programs. Or when girls donât have to sign up for the draft to recieve fasfa
