EMT people need to keep their opinions to themselves. Both times I was in the ambulance; he told me I probably had COVID, I had 2 ruptured ovarian cysts; the other time he told me it was because I didn’t eat breakfast, my appendix burst. They are not MDs

Why is he diagnosing at all? The job is to make snap decisions to keep you alive and get you to the hospital as quickly as possible. They need to find symptoms to present to the doctors and nurses upon arrival. The appendix one baffles me though because that’s actually a pretty common one and easy to get right.

Of course they have a job to do! I understand that. My problem is why are you having a debate with ME inside the ambulance about my differential diagnosis? Why are you being passive aggressive and talking to me like you’re the doctor? Imagine telling a girl in 7/10 pain (whos ovariam cyst ruptured) that she probably has a small stomach ache from COVID? Like please shut up

Oh my bad I thought you were saying they need to gather information to present and that’s why they were doing that 🤦‍♀️

No they need to find symptoms but not diagnose you, that’s not their job

Sometimes they might need to do a quick diagnosis to save a life, BUT you were conscious and talking, so it’s less likely they’d need to do that, plus he was wrong anyway
