Appreciation should not be based on gifts. If your partner routinely has to spend money on you for you to feel appreciated, you need to go to therapy.

appreciate can be based on gifts, doesn’t have to be definitive, it’s one of many things that can be shown as appreciation

i’m not saying it can never be based on guess I’m saying it shouldn’t be. If you do not feel loved because people aren’t spending money on you… you have deep rooted issues. If you can’t see the difference/point in my comment, then you might as well just fall straight into that category and move on.
