It’s because we were never taught in school how to write an email, and in this day and age you receive like none at all until college so it’s harder to pick up on it. Personally I overthink everything so when I was like 12 I taught myself how to write an email, but I can’t fully blame my peers for not knowing how
I do remember being taught how to write emails and like postal letters but tbf it was always very brief. I think from middle school to high school though most students really never use their emails so they never build the skill. It's a shame because it's kind of an important skill you'll need in college to get in contact with your professors most often... and they still can't write concise, comprehensive emails 😭
