Why does the entire world not take infectious diseases seriously anymore?

Public health is a liberal position now. And certain political agitators would rather kill millions than agree on something, so the political right is now firmly opposed to any serious effort to control the spread of infectious disease. And since you CAN’T really eradicate diseases without widespread cooperation, we’re basically fucked as long as enough people take the anti-public-health position
