I don’t know how to explain to my parents I don’t want them there when I get married. I don’t want anyone there. I just want to sign a paper with my wife, go eat Applebees together, and then go home and cuddle while we watch a movie.

Yeah actually same. When I marry my husband I do not want my parents there. It’s just such an intimate special moment I don’t want other people watching. Like I want my moment with my person

Literally. Like I love my parents, and they’ve always been supportive of me, so I feel bad for saying it. But I want this to be private, just us. I don’t want audience when I dedicate my life to the person I love most. My relationship is not a performance.

That’s what im probably going to end up doing but I’m worried it’ll make them sad/offended when it’s nothing against them, I just want it to be a private, low key moment with me and my wife.

if they love you they’ll understand it. you only get one life and i would hope you don’t spend it worrying if what makes you happy offends others
