wish my bf was more confident about me. he doesn’t like to show me off bc he doesn’t want men to look at me sexually, & he gets quiet when I reference male friends (who I barely ever see/talk to) or getting along with men. I love him, no one can steal me.

he’s convinced men can’t genuinely see women as friends without attraction involved. I’ve had plenty of close male friends who never made any kind of move on me, so I disagree.

Just playing devils advocate here but “I love him, no one can steal me” sounds a lot worse than “I love him, I would never cheat/leave” Like the way you phrased it basically pushes all the blame away from you if you did decide to be unfaithful lol

Not really. Old ones he barely talks to, even less than I talk to my old male friends. And I really don’t get the vibe he’d date them if he could. Feels kinda hypocritical.

Not exactly. But I’ll admit there’s an unfortunate disparity in emotional intelligence. Like, he’s unlikely to interrogate something borne from his insecurities even if it goes against his general values. It definitely creates some toxicity.
